It's impossible to talk about blues music in Australia without Phil Manning being mentioned in the first sentence. A founder & continuing member of the now legendary 'Chain', Phil Manning has long been regarded as the most effective blues guitarist produced in this country as well as a fine session player.
As a solo performer in the acoustic sphere, Phil has also been ahead of the game as one of the first electric gunslingers to begin working in both realms before 'unplugged' became the catch phrase.
Wizard and Oz are a very busy and hard-working blues outfit with a very impressive history of gigs. On a recent tour of New Zealand they were joined on stage by Phil Manning . A mutual respect for their considerable musical talents led to our request for a repeat of that team performing this year at Patonga. Phil Manning was more than happy to share the bill once more with these boys.
Wait there's more!!
BEACHHEAD came into being in early 1980 when it was heard that Kings Cross (Sydney) nightclub, La BASTILLE required a band for its midnight to dawn slot on Friday and Saturday nights. The current variation has been together since around August 1996 and has played a number of venues in Sydney and surrounds.
Rod (Beachhead) Jeffrey is the band's singer, Adam (Trev) Barnard on Drums, Gary (Guitar) Dale playing Guitar and on vocals, and Raoul Hawkins on Bass Guitar & Vocals.
And last and certainly not least: Alison Penny & The Moneymakers more details soon.

ABOUT THE FESTIVAL
We don't claim to be the biggest, but we can confidently say we are the most down to earth, genuinely community-based, friendliest and best value for money blues music festival in Australia. And I think we can confidently also claim to be the only "water access only" blues music festival in Australia!

WHAT IF IT RAINS?
Ideally, this is an outdoor festival, taking advantage of the beautiful grounds of the Broken Bay Sport and Recreation Centre. But, even if rain forces us indoors we are still able to bring all patrons in under cover in the event of rain.

Each year the festival has grown in many ways but rest assured we will never allow it to become too big. We feel that by limiting the numbers to maximum 600 we create a very pleasant 'family' atmosphere for the festival and don't put too much strain onto the limited parking in Patonga. It also makes it possible logistically to transport everyone to the venue in a short space of time so no-one misses any of the action.
Part of our success has been the fact that we organise this festival as a community-based event. We are not profit driven but we have a philosophy of providing top quality entertainment and a terrific day out at an affordable price to all. We don't impact on the village of Patonga and we have adopted a 'green' and friendly policy whereby we ask all patrons to carry home whatever they bring along with them on the day. The Broken Bay Sport and Rec. Centre is only accessible by boat so garbage is one of the biggest issues - whatever goes in must be taken out.
